Stephanie
Lead Tutor

Stephanie Beckett is a K-12 Teacher who delights in helping all students reach their fullest potentials in the most fun way possible! Brain research shows that the more fun you are having, the faster you learn! Her original education and teacher certification was in Secondary Social Studies (Grades 5-12), followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education (Grades K-6). She has taught all ages and grades from preschool through High School in Public Schools, Private Schools, personal tutoring, and Homeschool Groups for almost 30 years. A graduate of Stanton College Preparatory School and a winner of the national 1988 Parade Magazine Essay Contest, she excels in Writing and Composition. The well-roundedness of her scholarship is supported by her lifetime, invitation-only membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi shortly after entering college. Phi Kappa Phi was established in 1897 to recognize and encourage superior scholarship without restriction as to area of study and promote “the unity and democracy of education.” She teaches any and all subjects K-12 and tutors college courses. Additionally, she teaches group classes for various venues by request. Prior classes include Middle and High School Composition (IEW), Physical Science Laboratory (8th Gr.), Reading and Writing (SWR) at the Elementary Level and for the post-undergraduate-level TOEFL Examination, Chemistry I, Apologia General Science with Lab Experiments (7th Gr.). Private tutoring highlights also include every level of Math through Algebra and Geometry, Biology I, English 101, and beginning reading. She also consults with parents to provide help with homeschooling, curriculum choices, and provides standardized testing via the Iowa brand of standardized assessments.
